TIE INTO WIKI PROJECT

The UCLA Informatics Group started in Winter 2006, when a group of students started to gather to discuss their interests in Informatics. These students were searching for guidance and support to explore their interest in informatics, so they formed an Informatics discussion/support group. Information professionals and academics attended the meetings, and shared their knowledge and insight to their work and research. The group also held technology training to help members develop web-design skills, and communicated through an online mainling list. Four members of the group wrote a proposal to create the UCLA Informatics Wiki, as an online resource for those seeking information about Informatics.
